Enviroburners strongly involved in biomass gasification projects

Enviroburners Oy designs and manufactures advanced industrial burners and burner systems for demanding conditions and processes. Specific start-up and load burner models have been developed for biomass gasification plants. The first start-up burner for CFB gasifier was commissioned already in 1984.

Metso Power Oy has ordered a 10 MW start-up burner and a gasification gas back-up flare incinerator. The equipment is delivered to a world’s largest (140 MW) biomass gasification plant at Vaskiluoto in Finland. The delivery is due in 2012.

DONG Energy Power A/S has ordered a 6 MW gasification gas burner to the Asnaes power plant in Denmark, where gasification gas is produced with a LT-CFB gasifier from local biomass such as agricultural and other municipal waste. The product gas burner will be installed into a 147 MWe coal fired boiler and it will be commissioned in the autumn of 2011. For this Asnaes project Enviroburners has also supplied a gasifier start-up burner, which is already in operation.

The latest order for the gasification plants is a 4,5 MW start-up burner for a CFB gasifier at Metsä Botnia pulp mill in Joutseno, Finland. Andritz Oy is the supplier of the gasifier. With this gasifier use of natural gas in the lime kiln is replaced with gas produced from wood bark. Enviroburners delivers the start-up burner in 2012.
